(Located in District Heights, MD)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8 hour shift
Rate: $ 14- $ 20 an hour
Required Experience: 1 year or more in child Care
Education/ Certification Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate, Bachelor or Higher Degree
Desired Certifications: Certification Partial Funding Available for This Position
- MSDE (certified)
- 90 hour certification or CDA
- First Aid &CPR
- Basic Health &Safety
- SID
- 45 hour Infant &Toddler certification or Pre-K Certification
Teachers:
Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable about child development and early childhood curriculum
- Highly organized and accomplishes tasks in a timely manner
- Create a fun positive classroom for learning and exploration
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
- Create inspiring and age appropriate lesson plans to advance children’s physical and intellectual competence
- Support each child’s social and emotional development while providing positive guidance
- Personable and creates strong relationships with families and staff
- Complete children daily status reports
- Attend staff meetings and weekly planning sessions
- Maintain professional commitments
- Clean and maintain station
Education Requirement for Teachers:
- Associate or Bachelor’s or higher
- 90 hour certificate or CDA
- MDSE Qualified 45 hour Child Development
- 45 hour Infant & Toddler
- Pre-K Certification
- SIDS

Teacher Assistant/Aids and Interns, Front Desk Workers
Responsibilities:
- Support lead teacher in appropriate daily lesson plan and classroom activities that support all areas of growth and development
- Maintain and organize classrooms
- Provide a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes child learning, self-awareness, and growing independence
- Help with supervision of children
- Work with lead teacher to maintain records concerning progress of growth and development of children
- Maintain bulletin board inside classroom and hallways
- Work cooperatively with each team member
- Ensure all supplies, materials and the environment are ready for students (to include cleaning)
- Attend staff meetings and weekly planning sessions
- Follow Policies and Procedures and completes administrative task correctly and on time
- Use equipment and materials properly
- Experience using Microsoft office products
- Gather and analyze information skillfully
- Responds promptly to customer needs, promotes a positive relationship with parent, meet commitments and good communications skill
- Help with some meal preparation including cooking and / or serving meals
- Clean and maintain station

General Qualification:
All staff must meet the qualification his/her State and those set forth in the National Standards for hiring (see www.bls.gov) including the following
- Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid
- Ability to see and read newsprint, with or without corrective lens
- Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances
- Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use arms, hands, legs, and feet with or without corrective devices. This includes the ability to evacuate the building during emergencies
- Ability to handle crisis situations, especially when children are involved
- Ability to respond immediately to emergency situations.
