The Lead Pre-K 4 Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate educational program for children ages 4 and 5. The teacher will create a safe, nurturing and engaging classroom environment that promotes kindergarten readiness through intentional instruction, purposeful play and meaningful relationships.

The Lead Teacher will implement the Ready Set Prep Pre-K Academy Curriculum, maintain individual student portfolios, conduct school readiness assessments twice each year and prepare quarterly progress reports. The Lead Teacher works closely with the Teacher Assistant to model effective teaching practices, provide guidance and ensure a positive classroom culture that supports the academic, social, emotional and physical development of every child.

Essential Responsibilities

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with the Ready Set Prep Pre-K Academy Curriculum.
Create a safe, nurturing and engaging classroom environment.
Foster children's academic, social, emotional, language and physical development.
Maintain individual portfolios that document each child's progress throughout the school year.
Conduct school readiness assessments twice each year.
Prepare quarterly progress reports and communicate children's progress with families.
Model effective teaching practices and provide daily guidance to the Teacher Assistant.
Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with Maryland Office of Child Care regulations and Ready Set Prep policies.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development and family engagement activities.
Support a positive team culture and contribute to the continuous improvement of the educational program.
