Centennial is a small nonprofit early learning center dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for children aged 2 to 4. Unlike many childcare programs, we intentionally maintain small class sizes with a maximum ratio of 6 children per teacher and an average of just 4 children per teacher. This allows our staff to truly know each child, provide individualized support, and create a calm, engaging classroom where children can thrive.

What You'll Do

Assist with hands-on learning activities that encourage social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Build positive relationships with children through play, conversation, and daily routines.
Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions.
Help prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and daily activities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and healthy classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to meet each child's individual needs.
Follow all Maryland licensing regulations and center policies to ensure children's safety and well-being.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or similar setting for at least 1 year is required.
CDA or relevant certifications preferred.
Willingness to complete Maryland Office of Child Care training requirements (we will help guide you through the process).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Patient, dependable, and nurturing personality.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities.
Must successfully complete required background checks and meet Maryland licensing requirements.
