Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early literacy, math skills, social-emotional growth, and physical development for infants and toddlers.
- Provide attentive toddler care by meeting individual needs for feeding, diapering, nap times, and health monitoring.
- Apply classroom management techniques to maintain a positive, respectful environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
- Use behavior management strategies to support children’s emotional regulation and social skills development.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns through regular updates and parent-teacher conferences.
- Incorporate early intervention strategies for children requiring additional support or special education services.
- Maintain detailed documentation of developmental progress, lesson plans, and classroom activities in compliance with licensing standards.
- Foster a love of learning through engaging activities that integrate literacy education, physical education, and Montessori methods when appropriate.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are consistently followed to create a secure environment for all children.
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience working with infants and toddlers in daycare or preschool settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, including special education needs and early intervention techniques.
- Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience with childcare practices such as toddler care routines, diapering procedures, and health monitoring.
- Familiarity with teaching physical education activities and implementing literacy education initiatives for young children.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and support staff.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields is desirable; Montessori training or preschool experience is a plus.
